How To Detox Your Mind

We all know how important it is to detox our body. But detoxing our mind is as important as physical detox.



It is like regular cleaning of the house that we do frequently to keep the place tidy and cleaned up.


Let’s look at ways you can detox your mind and make the most out of your life.


1. Cut out From Negative and toxic People from your life

First thing in detoxing your mind is to cut out from negative and toxic people from your life. It could be anyone: your friend, family member or relative.



Negative people bring negativity into your life which in turn affects your self-esteem and thought process. You don’t realize that these people are harming your soul.



If you cannot cut them out from your life then try to stay away as much as you can. Whenever you need to face them, change your attitude towards them and learn to filter those negativities.

Surround yourself with positive people. People who make you feel good about yourself.


2. Practice Positive Self Talk:

Now this leads to our next step in detoxing mind is to practice positive self-talk. Practicing positive self-talk helps you dealing with negativity around you. It is your shield against it. Our mind produces thousands of thoughts a day and we need to watch what we feed our mind with. Is it positive or negative?

3. Take a Break:


We all live in fast paced life and running to keep up with the pace. Take a break from your busy schedules and routines. Spend some time with yourself and family. Take a vacation or even a day in a spa is a good idea to get away from everyday rush and deadlines. Take a walk outside. Being with nature itself is very much healing. It is very calming and helps you destress.

Like it is said that you need to slow down to speed up. Taking a break helps you relax and rejuvenate your energy.



4. Get Some Tech free time for yourself:


Get a tech free day. Give yourself a break from using phone or tv screen time. You can do this once a week or few hours a day. Checking your phone first thing in the morning and before going to bed really affects your thought process. You go into reactive mode and start replying to texts and messages and spending times on unnecessary things on social media. Do not waste your time on social media or subscribe to anything that Is not adding any value to your life. Use your time wisely and make the most of it.


It is also a good idea to avoid using phone during your lunch and dinner times. This way you can spend more time with yourself or with family members …the real people in your life instead of people on social media.


5. Mediation:

Time and time again it is proven that how powerful mediation is to calm and control your mind and making you mentally strong.

Meditation is not something that you have to do it for 30 or 40 minutes and you have to be in a quiet place. And it is not that you have to stop all your thoughts and all. You can even do it for 3 to 5 minutes. You just need to close your eyes, be aware about your surroundings and focus on your breathing. Meditation every day for few minutes really helps you relive stress and increases your concentration.


6. Find Your Destressing Activity:

It could be anything music, travel shopping or any sport. Spare sometime for these activities. This will help you rejuvenate, destress and energized.


7. Healthy Life style:


Our mind and body are connected so it is very important to lead a healthy life style by exercising and eating right. It will improve both your physical and mental health.


8. Let Go and Live:

Let go of your burden of mistakes and failures of your life. Do not beat yourself if something goes wrong. Learn from your mistakes and failures and move forward. Accept yourself with your imperfections. Learn to make peace with yourself. Think of positive and happy moments of your life and be grateful. Holding back only makes you stuck at one place. Let go and live.
